In this picture, Nathan is talking to Grandma while on his way to charm her co-workers. He was very sweet while we took him around to see everyone, although he was unfortunately not terribly interested in being held. He got very distracted by the pattern on the carpet and was trying to launch himself out of my arms to get to it.
I swear that he gets better at crawling and sitting every single day. This morning he sat (unsupported!) with Grandma for a long time while I was in the shower, looking at a few of the many, many books they got for him. He also has crawled to grab her camera several times. This is going to be a well-read and well-photographed child.
He’s also coming awfully close to pulling himself up on me. It’s like he needs a mommy recharge every few minutes while he’s playing, so he’ll crawl over and sort of scramble up and onto my legs while head-butting me in the belly. Generally if I pick him up for a hug, he’ll squirm to be set down again immediately. No time for hug, there’s exploring to be done! At least, until it’s time for the next hug. He did the same thing to Grandma once while I was out of the room, it was very sweet.
He’s doing better than I feared sleeping in an unfamiliar crib. He is waking up more than usual, but he’s actually getting a good amount of sleep. Which is more than I can say for myself. We’re both sleeping in my old bedroom, and while it’s so nice to listen to his soft baby snores, I’m sleeping very, very lightly because I can’t stop myself from listening for signs he’s waking up. It is very sweet to see his crib where my books and dolls used to be, though.
