Nathan has clearly already pegged me as the indulgent aunt who will do whatever he wants, even when Mama says no. He basically refuses to sit or crawl when I’m around because he knows that all he has to do is wave his little hand in the air and I’ll help him up and walk him around. This morning he was sitting quietly in the kitchen, playing in the cabinet while Ryan was nearby, cleaning up after breakfast. The moment that he saw me, however, he started bouncing violently up and down, holding his hands up to me and emphatically saying, “Ahhh! Ahh! Aaaah!” to which I, of course, responded, “Yes, yes,” and we spent the next few minutes running in circles around the kitchen. He also knows that I will always pick up his spoon for him when he drops it over the side of his high chair. Ryan and Jon had better watch out when he’s old enough to ask me to take him skydiving.
