This is Nathan enjoying some unauthorized splashing in the tub. We’ve been bathing him in the big tub upstairs, which has lots of room for lots of splashing.
Nathan has been very affectionate and interested in Sam, regularly asking to hold him, tucking him in with blankets, and bringing him pacifiers. Today when I went to pick him up at preschool, one of the other kids was peeking into Sam’s stroller, and Nathan got very possessive. He ordered her away and pulled the shade down on the stroller. He was explaining to his teacher that Sam is too little to play, but when he’s bigger he’ll teach him how to play trucks. He also told me this morning that he was going to go to the big kid class today, and Sam could go to the little kid class. He’s also started snuggling up to me when I’m nursing Sam. This morning he brought over his CD player and I sang along while he lay next to me lining his matchbox cars up in a row.
Of course, he’s also been kind of on edge, as you might expect. Nothing too bad, just getting over-excited, crying over-dramatically for no reason, lots of nononononono, that kind of thing. So we had some of that today, and since he didn’t nap and spent the half-hour before bedtime running around like crazy we figured bedtime might be a problem. Instead, he didn’t even wait for us to tell him it was time to go upstairs. He took the book he wanted to read up to his room, went and fetched the stool, brushed his teeth, and then started calling for daddy to tell him it was bedtime.
